EMBRYO

2000 Live Vol. 1

Embryo 2000 - these were tours through Europe, the Near East and North Africa, but also through Germany. The caravan of of cultural vagabonds moved on: Embryo mastermind Christian Burchard had gathered an international cast around him this time as well.

Musicians from Japan, China, Germany, the USA, Turkey, Russia and India created finely chiseled jazz from various world music sources. And Bayka, whose birth is documented on the “Embryos journey”, sings a blues - a circle is closed here.

Also outstanding: New York trombonist Marty Cook, who can look back on releases with Archie Shepp, Jim Pepper and “Roter Bereich”. An extremely multi-faceted ethno-jazz CD.
